Since he was brought to the state from central deputation, his tenure might not be just for a few months, so he may get extension. Ahuja was appointed CS on June 29, 2024.He succeeded Pradeep Kumar Jena, whose term ended on June 30, 2024. After two decades, Odisha appointed anyone CS from outside of the State. He was holding the position of Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare since April 1, 2022 before being repatriated to his home cadre.
