New Delhi (04.11.2022): NITI Aayog is about to finalize a report on the technological and commercial feasibility of Hyperloop Technology that can be adopted in India to travel as fast as 1200 km per hour. A committee in this regard was constituted in November 2020 headed by Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Member NITI Aayog.

The committee was supposed to look into high-speed transportation systems in India for passengers as well as cargo. 

The full report from the committee will take a call as to which ministry – Civil Aviation or Railways Ministry -- will be made the nodal ministry to look into the development of Hyperloop Technology. The Centre along with state governments has been giving dedicated focus on the development of multimodal connectivity and improving the overall logistic performance of the country.
