New Delhi (26.03.2024): In a major decision while General Elections are underway, six IPS officers including DG, National Investigation Agency (NIA), DG, BPRD and DG, NDRF have been reshuffled. SPG has got a new ADG, tenure of a Joint Director, CBI has been extended while in an interesting move a senior UP cadre officer has been repatriated to his parent cadre. The name of these officers are as follows:

• Sadanand Vasant Date (IPS: 1990: MH) has been appointed as Director General, National Investigation Agency for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.12.2026 vice Dinkar Gupta (IPS: 1987: PB) upon his superannuation on 31.03.2024.
• Rajeev Kumar Sharma (IPS: 1990: RJ) has been appointed as Director General, Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPRD) for a tenure up to his superannuation on 30.06.2026 vice Balaji Srivastava (IPS: 1988: AGMUT) upon his superannuation on 31.03.2024.
• Piyush Anand (IPS: 1991: UP), Special DG, CISF, has been appointed as Director General, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) by temporarily upgrading the post of DG, NDRF to the level of DG on personal basis for a period of two years vice Atul Karwal (IPS: 1988: GJ) upon his superannuation on 31.03.2024.
• P V Ramasashtry (IPS: 1989: UP) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
• S Suresh (IPS: 1995: KL) has been appointed as ADG in SPG by temporarily upgrading one post of IG to ADG level as a measure personal to the officer.
• Tenure of Supriya Patil Yadav (IPS: 2004: MH), Joint Director, CBI, was extended for a period of one year i.e. up to 17.04.2025.
