New Delhi (26.08.2021): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday cleared the appointment of new chiefs in Border Security Force (BSF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). Accordingly; Pankaj Kumar Singh (IPS:1988:RJ) was appointed as Director-General post in BSF for a tenure ending December 2022 i.e. till his retirement. Singh replaces the erstwhile BSF DG Rakesh Asthana. Currently, Singh is serving as Special DG in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and will take charge on September 01, 2021. Balaji Srivastav (IPS:1988:UT) was appointed as Director-General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) from the date of joining the post and up to March 31, 2024 i.e. till his superannuation. Further, Sanjay Arora (IPS:1988:TN) was appointed as Director-General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) till his retirement 31.07.2025. He replaces S S Deswal (IPS:1984:HY) retiring this month-end.
