To clarify the issues arising out of demonetization and make a renewed global push for Make in India campaign, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley held a meeting on Tuesday with as many as 20 Indian Foreign Service officers who have been promoted to the rank of ambassador. It is not usual for Indian envoys to meet top government functionaries in a group, as they usually call on individually. Since most of these officers are to be posted to countries in Latin America, Europe, and Africa, the government is taking no chances and wants its new ambassadors to be fully conversant with its new policies.
