New Delhi (05.07.2025): NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna
CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been entrusted with a
marquee assignment that promises to reshape the academic contours of South
India. With a project value of approximately Rs 44 crore, NBCC is all set to
take the reins as Project Management Consultant for a grand infrastructure
expansion at the Energy Institute, Bengaluru the southern campus of Rajiv
Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT). Located in Kambalipura, Hosakote Taluk, spread across a
sprawling 125-hectare expanse and nestled just a short drive from Bengaluru’s
vibrant cityscape and Kempegowda International Airport, this futuristic campus
will witness a spectacular architectural transformation. From modern
institutional blocks and dignitary guest houses to a vibrant residential hub
for students and faculty, the upcoming facilities will reflect not just scale
and functionality, but a vision of sustainable, smart living that echoes India’s
climate-conscious commitments. The development will feature a built-up area of over 13,500
square metres and more importantly, a dynamic fusion of technology,
architecture and ecological design. The new avatar of the campus will house
intelligently designed guest accommodations, fully-equipped hostels, faculty
residences, expanded dining infrastructure and a holistic campus environment
interlaced with smart infrastructure all seamlessly integrated with
energy-efficient systems, digital utilities and green building features. This project underscores NBCC’s ability to deliver
excellence across the entire project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
With deep technical expertise, NBCC will oversee the development of
architectural, structural, electrical, and environmental designs, manage
tenders and vendors, secure all statutory approvals, and ensure compliance with
health, safety, and environmental standards. The agency’s robust monitoring
mechanisms and professional oversight will ensure timely execution with
uncompromised quality. What sets this project apart is its bold embrace of
sustainability. The blueprint incorporates passive design techniques such as
recessed fenestration, central courtyards, and natural ventilation, along with
climate-responsive materials and thermal insulation. Integrated rainwater
harvesting, solar power, and expansive green zones will make the campus a
living model of India’s green aspirations.
