Union Labour & Employment Secretary M Sathiyavathy (IAS:1982:UT) today took over as a member of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Vinay Mittal, UPSC Chairman and former Chairman of Railway Board, administered the oath to Ms Sathiyavathy.
She has held several important positions in Govt of India including first woman chief of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Previously she also held important positions namely; Jt DG, DGFT (Min of Commerce); Controller, ISRO Satellite Centre; Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, and AS&FA Ministry of Civil Aviation.
