Jugal Kishore Mohapatra (IAS:1979:OR) has been given additional charge of Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation vice Ms Vijay Laxmi Joshi (IAS:1980:GJ). Mohapatra is presently serving as Secretary, Department of Rural Development.
The sudden development came as a surprise for many in power corridors further fuelling the speculation as what led to this development all of a sudden.
Her request for VRS was supposed to be effective from October 31 this year but further she withdrew it in the last week of September. Her husband G P Joshi (Rtd IAS:1978:GJ) also had taken VRS in 2008 and moved back to his ancestral place in Uttarakhand chasing his spiritual pursuit.
