Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Andrew Yule & Company Ltd may shortly get a new Independent Director on its Board. Sources indicated that Ms. Shipra Goon's name was recommended for the post which has reportedly been cleared by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet and a formal announcement would be made shortly. Goon, a senior BJP leader from Assam and Secretary All India Mahila Morcha (BJP), had contested in 2016 Assembly Elections from Karimganj South constituency as a BJP candidate. Currently, there are two non-executive Independent Directors on the Board of AYCL, namely, Sudhir Jhunjhunwala and Dr. Dhanpat Ram Agarwal.
