The NaMo administration on Monday named Y C Modi (IPS:1984:AM) as the successor to the outgoing NIA Chief Sharad Kumar (IPS:1979:HY) who is set to complete his two years tenure as DG, NIA on 30 October 2017. With Modi's appointment as OSD in NIA with immediate effect an ADG post has fallen vacant in CBI.
Modi was appointed as ADG in CBI on June 30, 2015 and prior to that he served in his cadre state of Meghalaya as ADG, Law & Order-cum- Chief Coordinator for Security (Shillong).
