The Manipur government and its employees are locked in a battle on the issue of implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
The JAC of AMGEO and AMTUC has turned down a government invitation for a meeting at the level of the Chief Secretary with regard to the ongoing cease work strike.
Employees' unions believe that the invitation was nothing but a delaying tactic.
Even though the unions have turned down the chief Secretary's invitation, they have appealed to him to arrange a meeting between the Chief Minister and the JAC at his (Chief Secretary) office on April 19.
