Imphal (13.12.2021): Yet another cop is likely to join politics. Manipur DGP L M Khaute (IPS: 1985: Manipur Tripura) took voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Services (IPS) to join politics. He was appointed as the DGP of Manipur in December 2015.Reportedly Khaute is likely to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections, due early next year from Churachandpur (ST) Assembly constituency.
