Major IAS & IPS reshuffle in Chhattisgarh: Kujur is new Chief Secretary

In a sudden move, on Wednesday night, the newly-elected Congress government in Chhattisgarh effected a bureaucratic reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers and appointed Sunil Kumar Kujur (IAS:1986:CG) new Chief Secretary of the state. Kujur replaces Ajay Singh (IAS:1983:CG) who had been serving as CS since January 2018. Singh has been made the chairman of the Revenue Board, Bilaspur.

 

Prior to this Kujur was Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Commerce and Industry and Public-Sector departments.

 

Besides, two other senior IAS officers were also shifted. Koppala Durgananda Prasad Rao (IAS:1988:CG) was was shifted as the ACS, Agriculture and Biotechnology, and commissioner, Agriculture Production. Earlier he served as Chairman, Revenue Board, Bilaspur.

 

Similarly, Amitabh Jain (IAS:1989:CG), ACS (Finance) has been given the additional charge as ACS, Commerce and Industry and Public-Sector departments.


Further, six IPS officers too were reshuffled as follows:-

  • S R P Kalluri (IPS:1994:CG) appointed IG, Economic Offence Wing and Anti Crime Branch (Raipur).
  • G P Singh (IPS:1994:CG) and Deepanshu Kabra (IPS:IPS:1997:CG) were appointed to the post of IG Police HQ (Raipur).
  • Arun Dev Gautam (IPS:1992:CG) was appointed Secretary to Govt of Chhattisgarh for Home, Jail and Transport Department
  • Dr Anand Chabra (IPS:2001:CG) and Ratan Lal Dangi (IPS:2003:CG) were given the additional charge of IG Raipur Range and Durg Range respectively.
