New Delhi (31.03.2026): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday effected a major reshuffle of Additional Secretaries from various services, batches and cadres. The names and new assignments of these officers are as follows:-
- Puneet Kansal (IAS: 1996: SK), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary in the Ministry.
- Mona K Khandar (IAS: 1996: GJ), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
- Faiz Ahmed Kidwai (IAS: 1996: MP) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training. Currently, he is DG, DGCA
- Vir Vikram Yadav (IAS: 1996: OR), was appointed as DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation by keeping the Recruitment Rules of the post in abeyance. He replaces Faiz Ahmed Kidwai (IAS: 1996: MP).
- Gyanendra D Tripathi (IAS: 1998: AM), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE) and Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
- Vishal Gagan (IAS: 1998: OR), presently in the cadre, was appointed Secretary, Central Information Commission CIC) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
- N Gulzar (IAS: 1999: AP), Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, as appointed as Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
- Diwakar Nath Misra (IAS: 2000: AM) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power. Currently, he is Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance,
- Debasish Prusty (IAS:2000: RJ), presently in the cadre, as appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
- Sridhar Chiruvolu (IAS: 2001: BH), currently Joint Secretary, Prime Minister's Office, was in-situ elevated as Additional Secretary, PMO.
- Arti Kanwar (IAS: 2001: GJ), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. She replaces Rohit Kansal (IAS: 1995: AGMUT) upon his appointment as Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development.
- Darpan Jain (IAS: 2001: KN), currently Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce.
- Anuj Sharma (IDES: 1991), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Home under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Lokhande Prashant Sitaram (IAS: 2001: AGMUT), currently Joint Secretary in the Department of Home, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Home under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Ankita Mishra Bundela (IAS: 2001: AGMUT), currently Joint Secretary, Department of Health 8& Family Welfare, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
- Vijay Nehra (IAS: 2001: GJ), currently Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, was elevated in the same department.
- Siddharth Jain (IAS: 2001: AP), currently Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, was appointed as Additional Secretary in the same department.
- Neetu Kumari Prasad (IAS: 2001: TG), currently Joint Secretary, Department of Fisheries, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue vice Diwakar Nath Misra (IAS: 2000: AM).
- Diwakar Nath Misra (IAS: 2000: AM) was appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power. Currently, he is serving as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance.
- Meenaxi Rawat (IES: 1993), currently CVO at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
- Ansuman Pattanaik (IRS IT: 1994) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Currently, he is DG at Competition Commission of India.
- Yashvir Singh (IES: 1996), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce by temporarily upgrading a vacant p0st of DS/Director in the Department.
- Nigar Fatima Husain (IDES: 1996), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
- Aparna Bhatia (IES: 1996), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
- Hari Har Mishra (IDAS: 1998), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Joint Secretary in the Department.
- Veena Kumari Dermal (IPoS: 1998) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines vice Sanjay Lohiya (IAS: 1994: AM). Presently she is in the cadre.
In addition, two IAS officers were elevated in-situ to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:
- Sarita Chauhan Chand (IAS: 1999: AGMUT), Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, was elevated (In-situ) in the rank of Additional Secretary.
- Pankaj Yadav (IAS: 2001: HY), Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, was elevated (In-situ) in the rank of Additional Secretary.
