New Delhi: Lieutenant
General Anil Chauhan has assumed the charge of Army Commander, Eastern Command,
at the Command Headquarters at Fort William in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Lt Gen Chauhan served
as director-general of military operations at the Army Headquarters in New
Delhi before he was appointment as Eastern Command chief. As the
director-general, he dealt with the formulation of policies regarding national
security as well as tackling the present challenges to the country along the
terrestrial borders of India.
