New Delhi (10.12.2021): Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Bill proposing extension in services to the CBI Director and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chief for a period of five years. This Bill came for discussion in the lower house and ruling as well as opposition party MPs discussed it for over four hours. Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh replied all the queries raised by the parliamentarians of opposition parties. He argued that the chief of investigating agency in the USA gets tenure of five years. Thereafter, Lok Sabha passed the Bill and rejected the amendment suggested by the Opposition.
