New Delhi (29.11.2024): The name of Delhi High Court Chief Justice Manmohan has been recommended for the appointment of a judge in the Supreme Court of India by the Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and also comprising Justices BR Gavai, Surya Kant, Hrishikesh Roy and Abhay S Oka. Justice Manmohan has been serving as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court since September 2024. Before that, he served as its acting Chief Justice since September 2023. He was appointed as additional judge of the Delhi High Court on March 13, 2008 and was made permanent on December 17, 2009. The Supreme Court is currently functioning with 32 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 34, a vacancy position of 2.
