New Delhi (29.04.2025): Fourteen days ahead of the retirement of serving CJI Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the President Draupadi Murmu appointed Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai as the next Chief Justice of India. Justice B R Gawai will succeed Justice Khanna as the 52nd Chief Justice of India on May 14, 2025.Justice Khanna took oath as 51st CJI on November 11, 2024, and he is due to retire on May 13, 2025.
