New Delhi (13.08.2024): The Public
Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday selected Joydeep
Dasgupta for the post of Director (Production), NMDC Limited;
a Schedule ‘A’ Central PSU. A total 12 people were interviewed. His recommendation
is subject to the final outcome of the case filed in the High Court of
Karnataka. Currently, Dasgupta is posted as Executive Director (Mines),
Jharkhand Group of Mines, BSL, SAIL, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
Subject to requisite clearances and ACC approval, Dasgupta will be appointed
as Director (Production), NMDC. The post of Director (Production)
is laying vacant. Earlier the selection meeting was held on 05.06.2024 and in
compliance of interim judgement dated 04.06.2024 of High Court of Karnataka Satyender
Rai, Executive Director, NMDC was not allowed to appear in the Selection
Meeting and the result was not finalised by the PESB. Further, in compliance of
the modified interim order dated 05.07.2024 of the High Court in this Writ
Petition, Rai was called for Selection Meeting scheduled on 13.08.2024 at 10.30
AM. The performance of the candidates including Satyender Rai was assessed.
