Rajasthan cadre 2009 batch IPS officer Pankaj Kumar Chaudhary is all set
to contest Lok Sabha elections from the Barmer parliamentary constituency and he may file nomination on April 08. It may be mentioned that his wife Ms Mukul Pankaj Choudhary too had contested Rajasthan assembly elections (2018) challenging
the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in her Jhalarapatan assembly
constituency. It may be further added that the Rajasthan Govt dismissed Chaudhary (44)
in the first week of March. Later he had resorted to the Central Administrative
Tribunal (CAT) challenging the state government's dismissal order. The CAT had
issued notices to the state government and the Centre in the matter. Sources close to Chaudhary said that he analysed seven seats in the
western Rajasthan and finally decided to contest from the Barmer parliamentary
constituency. Having served as the Superintendent of Police in Jaisalmer he is
well versed with the aspirations of electorate of the region he said.
