Ms Mukul Pankaj Choudhary, wife of 2009 batch Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Pankaj Choudhary, may contest forthcoming assembly elections challenging the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje in her Jhalarapatan assembly constituency. Raje has been MLA from this constituency since 2003.  

Mukul feels that her honest husband is being constantly harassed by the present regime. Thus, she would contest the poll to protect the honour of her husband. She said that contesting from Jhalrapatan is the democratic way to fight the injustice being faced by her honest husband. It may be mentioned that Vasundhara Govt had served seven charge-sheets to Pankaj Choudhary.

Ms Mukul’s mother, Shashi Datta, was a Law minister in the Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government and later contested the 2008 assembly election on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket though she lost the election. Having inherited politics from her mother Ms Mukul Pankaj has just took plunge into electoral politics.
