Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the selection interview for the coveted post of CEO, National Intelligence Grid (NATGIG), was held on January 15. As many as nine candidates including ranking military officers appeared for the interview.
Among the IPS officers who appeared for the interview were the incumbent Secretary Internal Security (MHA), Ashok Prasad (IPS:1979:AP), former DG of BPR&D Navneet Rajan Vasan (Rtd IPS:1980:AP) and Special Director IB Satish Chandra Jha (IPS:1981:BH). Reportedly, a senior officer form TCS also appeared for the interview.
The post of CEO, NATGRID has been lying vacant for the past 20 months as Raghu Raman, the erstwhile CEO, demitted the office on May 31, 2014.
Ashok Prasad has a proven track-record of handling the complex law & order situation as DGP, J&K and further as Special Director of Intelligence Bureau.
Indianmandarins had reported in August this year that Prasad would have fair chances to become NATGRID chief as the selection process would coincide with his retirement in January 2016.
