India’s former ED at IMF to head TEG to advise on income survey

1000New Delhi (24.06.2025): The Ministry of Statistics and
Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on 23.06.2025 announced setting up of a
Technical Expert Group (TEG) under the chairmanship of Surjit S Bhalla to advice on
an income distribution survey tentatively scheduled in 2026. The TEG will guide the National Statistics
Office on conducting an all-India income distribution survey tentatively
scheduled for 2026. The MoSPI has constituted a TEG under chairmanship of
Surjit S Bhalla, former Executive Director of India, International Monetary
Fund.
