Chandigarh (22.05.2026): The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has approved promotion of 21 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers to the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre. The new induction covers vacancies spanning from 2020 to 2025 which includes former Indian women's hockey captain Mamta Kharb.
The two officers -- Sumer Singh and Tanya Singh – have been granted provisional promotions which are subject to clearance in pending disciplinary proceedings.
