After dithering for a long time, the HRD Ministry has finally despatched the file on IGNOU vice-chancellor M Aslam to the President. Aslam is currently on a forced leave as the government has been probing charges of administrative irregularities against him. It is learnt that the ministry, in its comments, has found seven of the 31 allegations substantially true. However, it is tight-lipped about what action it has recommended in the matter.
