New Delhi (15.07.2021): The unfreezing of dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) raising them to 28% from 17%, announced on Wednesday, will raise the monthly salary by ₹1,980 at the minimum salary level of ₹18,000 and ₹27,500 at the maximum level of ₹2,25,000.

Besides, HRA at the maximum rate will be another 3% of the basic pay.

Employees, living in their own houses, will also benefit from a hike in the house rent allowance increased to 27, 18, and 9 percent for cities and towns categorized as X, Y, and Z.

The following is the benefit level for different categories of staff:

1.Salary of MTS having Grade Pay ₹1,800 ( level 1)

Basic pay ₹18,000 ₹18,000

DA ₹5,040 ₹3,060

TA ₹1,350 ₹1350

DA on TA ₹378  ₹230

₹24,768  ₹22,640  ₹2,128

2.Net salary at the rank of secretary (level-17)

Basic pay ₹2,25,000 ₹2,25,000

DA ₹63,000 ₹38,250

TA ₹15,750 ₹15,750

DA on TA ₹4,410  ₹2,678

₹3,08,160  ₹2,81,678  ₹26,482

Net difference of pay between level 17 and level 1 = ₹26,482-₹2,128 = ₹24,354

Over 6.5 million pensioners will also benefit from the latest DA/DR freeze.
