Chandigarh (20.04.2023): With Haryana DGP P K Agrawal due to retire on August 15, 2023, the Haryana government has started preparing the list of IPS officers to send it to the UPSC for shortlisting. Names of his possible successors may include D G Prison Muhammad Akil (IPS: 1990: HY); DG Haryana Police Housing Corporation R C Mishra (IPS: 1990: HY); DG ACB Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor (IPS: 1991: HY); and commandant general, Home Guards and civil defence department Desh Raj Singh (IPS: 1990: HY).
Mishra will attain superannuation in June 2024 while Akil is due to retire in December 2025. Kapoor has the longest tenure and is due to retire in October 2026 while Deshraj will retire in June 2025. Kapoor and Akil are among the front runners, though Mishra, who is senior to them, could also be considered.
