The Gujarat government on May 17 has finally formalized its own decision which it took in the first week of this month only. Vijay Nehra (IAS:2001:GJ), who was relieved of his duties as Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on May 05, 2020, has finally been transferred to the post of Commissioner of Rural Development and Secretary, Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department relieving Manoj Aggarwal of the additional charge of the post.

Mukesh Kumar (IAS:1996:GJ), holding the additional charge of Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, was regularised as a new AMC Commissioner replacing Vijay Nehra (IAS:2001:GJ).

Further, Avantika Singh Aulakh (IAS:2003:GJ) on her return from long term training abroad, has been appointed as Vice Chairman and CEO of Gujarat Maritime Board vice Mukesh Kumar.
