Twenty-one senior IAS officers were on Thursday (12th July 2018) reshuffled. Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) Managing Director Anand Mohan Tiwari (IAS:1985:GJ) was appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Home vice Mahavir Singh Dagur (IAS:1984:GJ). Dagur, retiring this month end, was made Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Ltd, a state-run PSU. Arvind Agarwal (IAS:1984:GJ), ACS Forests and Environment was shifted as ACS (Finance). Sujit Gulati (IAS:1984:GJ) appointed MD of GSFC. Untill now Gulati served as ACS, Energy and Petrochemicals department. Raj Gopal (IAS:1987:GJ) was made Gulati's successor in Dept of Energy & Petrochemicals. Prior to Raj Gopal served as Principal Secretary, in Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department. Food and Civil Supplies Department ACS Sangeeta Singh (IAS:1986:GJ) was made ACS, General Administrative Department (Personnel). Rajiv Kumar Gupta (IAS:1986:GJ), currently ACS, Labour and Employment, was appointed ACS, Forest and Environment Department. Gupta is replaced by Vipul Mitra (IAS:1986:GJ) who served as ACS Dept of Ports and Transport. T Natarajan (IAS:1996:GJ), incumbent Joint MD of GSPC was appointed as its MD. Cottage and Rural Industries Commissioner Amrendra Kumar Rakesh (IAS:1989:GJ) was appointed Principal Secretary, Dept of Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development. Sandeep Kumar (IAS:2002:GJ) was appointed Cottage and Rural Industries Commissioner vice A K Rakesh. Sunaina Tomar (IAS:1989:GJ), Principal Secretary, Dept of Education was transferred and appointed as PS Dept of Ports and Transport. Kamal Kumar Dayani (IAS:1990:GJ), currently PS Social Justice and Empowerment Dept, was shifted to Food and Civil Supplies. Manoj Aggarwal (IAS:1990:GJ) who earlier served as State Development Commissioner was appointed PS, Social Justice and Empowerment vice K K Dayani. Mukesh Kumar (IAS:1996:GJ) was appointed Secretary, Dept of Education. Earlier he served as Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner. Vijay Nehra (IAS:2001:GJ) who returned recently from long-term training abroad was made Mukesh Kumar's successor as Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Vinod Rao was appointed Secretary, Department of Agriculture. Vice Chairman and CEO of Gujarat Maritime Board Ajay Bhadoo (IAS:1999:GJ) will take over as Municipal Commissioner Vadodara. Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records N P Thakar was appointed State Development Commissioner vice Manoj Aggarwal. Lochan Sehra, who holds additional charge as Secretary, Housing and Nirmal Gujarat, was regularised in the same department. He would also hold the additional charge of Housing Commissioner. Mohammad Shahid (IAS:1998:GJ) was made new Vice Chairman and CEO of the Gujarat Maritime Board.
