If some well placed sources are to believed the Modi government may take on foreign media for its malicious, one-sided and unsubstantiated reports on communal riots in north-east Delhi that has claimed 47 lives so far by seeking detailed reports published in the foreign media. Union minister for information and broadcasting Prakash Javdekar chaired the meeting in which everything was discussed threadbare.

If sources are to be believed, foreign media will be issued rejoinders for their unsubstantiated, one-sided and irresponsible reporting and will be asked to do the needful if found on the wrong side and on failing to do so further action will be initiated with the help of Ministry of external affairs by contacting the embassy of the concerned countries.

Actually the problem started with Wall Street Journal allegedly misquoting slain IB officials Ankit Sharma’s brother Ankur Sharma. A formal complaint has been lodged against Eric Bellman, deputy bureau chief. A police complain has also been lodged by one NGO against the newspaper.

Actually the government was very perplexed with the kind of bias coverage by the foreign media but unlike previous regime, the present dispensation decided to take media behemoths head-on and is resolute to take the fake news even by the international media to a logical end.

All concern persons in various departments have been asked to contribute their bit and even ministry of external affairs and PMO has been kept in the loop. It is also being said by a section in the government that PM unplugging from social media has some links with the International media tarnishing the image of the Modi government obviously with some intentions.
