New Delhi (30.05.2025): The Jharkhand government suspended Vinay Kumar Choubey (IAS: 1999: JH) and Joint Excise Commissioner Gajendra Singh after their arrest in liquor scam case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had arrested Choubey in connection with illegal liquor scam in Jharkhand. According to ACB officials, both these officers are accused of misusing their official position and causing significant financial losses to the state exchequer. The liquor scam that took place in Chhattisgarh, it is alleged that a syndicate based in Raipur supplied liquor to Jharkhand using fake holograms. The alleged liquor scam in Chhattisgarh reached Jharkhand between 2019 and 2022. Choubey was made accused along with Chhattisgarh officials.
