New Delhi (27.04.2021): It's rather unusual among human beings, and rare among officials and politicians, to shun positive publicity. But as the Chinese virus stalks us all with the ferocity of a true bioweapon of the Chinese Communist Party, ordinary Bhartiyas, like their armed forces, are rising to the challenge and beginning to see the quality among one another that they missed till the other day. In a heart-warming and refreshing way, a senior IAS officer of the MHA has been listing out ordinary Indians in his Twitter handle and complimenting them for their brave and self-sacrificing gesture to neutralize and defeat the CCP bioweapon as effectively and decisively as the boys did to the PLA in Ladakh. Sanjeev Gupta (IAS:1985:HP), who is secretary to the Inter-State Council Secretariat (under the MHA), tagged a news item to his Twitter handle that tells the story of workers of Bokaro Steel Plant who refused to eat their lunch till they produced the urgently-needed liquid medical oxygen (LMO) for the day to be supplied to Delhi hospitals. Similarly, he tagged the story of Gulshan Nagpal (SHO Mundka, Delhi) and several other people involved in doing selfless service to the community and people at large. At the same time, he severely criticized a news item that seemed to praise him and an Odisha-cadre IPS officer Arun Bothra for their efforts to neutralize the CCP bioweapon through great coordination in reaching an oxygen truck to Delhi's Rathi hospital where the life of 68 patients hung by a slender thread. The comments of both Gupta and Bothra should, but may not, wake up the power-drunk media barons and their favorite errand boys of journalism.
