At a time when every moment is important to make or break the situation in the fight against the pandemic, it is important to see whether Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan (IAS:1983:AP) will be given extension in service beyond her superannuation i.e. 30.04.2020. In case the NaMo administration is considering a new Health Secretary, the appointment of OSD may be announced at least 15 days ahead of Mrs. Sudan’s retirement. In case she is to be continued the announcement of extension may be made in the last week of the month. Indianmandarins has reliably learned that names of three serving Union secretaries are under consideration, in case Mrs Sudan does not get an extension. Of these three, two are from 1987 batch whereas one is from 1986 batch.
