New Delhi (02.11.2022):Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has appointed Vishal Kapoor (IRSME:1995) as its new CEO. He recently completed his tenure as the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Power. Kapoor, today, took over the charge as the CEO of the world’s largest public Energy Service Company (ESCO).
It may be underlined that Arun Kumar Mishra, formerly Director of National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM), was in October 2021, appointed as CEO for a period of one year.
It may be underlined that Power Grid (PGCIL) CMD K Sreekant is the Chairman of EESL.
ABOUT VISHAL KAPOOR:
As joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, he led various government interventions, schemes, and reforms in the distribution sector.
He also spearheaded cyber security and IT initiatives in the power sector.
He played an instrumental role in formulating the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme for the Operational and Financial turnaround of distribution utilities.
Kapoor worked with the Indian Railways in various capacities in the design, operations, and maintenance of the Rolling Stock of Indian Railways.
He introduced the high-capacity car carrying freight cars in India and export of more than a dozen locomotives to Tanzania and Myanmar.
Kapoor graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (IRIMEE). Holding a Master’s degree from the National University of Singapore.
