The serving, outgoing and former
board-level executives of state owned companies (CPSEs) have started vying for
the post of Director General of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises
(SCOPE) following the advertisement of DG post. The DG, SCOPE was advertised
on Wednesday (29 August 2018). As per the prescribed eligibility criteria the
applicants should have 10 yrs long experience in Central PSUs. Applicants
serving or having served as CMD and Director in Schedule ‘A’ CPSE should have a
minimum experience of three years whereas it requires minimum 10 years of
experience for those in Schedule ‘B’ Central PSUs. The applicants’ age should
not be more than 62 years of age as on 01 October 2018. The tenure of DG will
be for a period of five years (03 + 02) or till 65 years of age. SCOPE is
an apex professional organization representing the Central Government Public
Enterprises. It has also some State Enterprises, Banks and other Institutions
as its members. It claims to be the only organization
representing the entire spectrum of public sector enterprises (PSEs) in India
set up with an objective to promote excellence in organisations and enable
member enterprises be globally competitive in a market driven environment. The outgoing DG (SCOPE) Dr
U D Choubey had taken over on August 01, 2009. He will be completing 70 years
of age next year. Reportedly, the appointment process may be delayed till Dr
Choubey attains 70 years of age.
