New Delhi (01.05.2025): On May 01, 2025, which is also celebrated as International Labour Day, the Government of Haryana swung a surprise by announcing a newly crafted “Department of Future”.  In a freshly issued notification the state government announced the placement of two IAS officers in the department against a newly created post. 
Accordingly, Amneet P Kumar (IAS: 2001: HY) was placed as Commissioner & Secretary in the Department of Future while Dr Aditya Dahiya (IAS: 2011: HY) was placed as Director in the Department of Future in addition to their current responsibilities. 
Currently, Amneet P Kumar is working as Commissioner & Secretary in the Department of Fisheries and Department of Archives (Haryana) whereas Dr Aditya Dahiya is working as Special Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training and Department of Parliamentary Affairs.
Interestingly, post notification several bureaucrats appeared curious over the framework and mandate of the “Department of Future”.
