delhis-season-of-speculationsPoliticians of all hues and colors have entered into a season of consoling themselves. Enthused with Rahul Gandhi's speech and so-called success of 84th Plenary Session in Delhi Congress party-workers and prospective allies across country have started sounding  optimistic. Further anti-NDA chaps are thrilled at Chandra Babu Naidu's TDP breaking its ties with the NDA. Even though the Congress hasn't got anything going for it, its leaders have come to see some opportunity opening up for them in Andhra Pradesh. Further, NDA's losses in UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan have brought back old boy Sharad Pawar back into the reckoning. It is speculated that he may forge an alliance with Congress for the 2019 national elections, even as Behen Mayawati and Akhilesh are exploring the possibility of replicating their recent cooperation for the 2019 elections. TRS Chief and Telangana CM's scheduled meeting with Mamta Banerjee in Kolkata has added another dimension to a possible third front against BJP and Congress. But the BJP is not showing any sign of nervousness. Its leaders are focused on effective messaging of pro-people initiatives taken by the NaMo administration and convincing people of the fact that all the banking frauds are a gift of the UPA administration. One may recall the era of the seventies when all the opposition groups used to gang up like they are doing now against late PM Indira Gandhi and they would invariably lose the election to her. The question is whether the BJP/NDA has come to acquire the charisma of Indira Gandhi.
