New Delhi (06.02.2026): In a significant administrative move aimed at bridging top-tier vacancies in the Delhi administration, the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) on Friday assigned the additional responsibilities of two Director General rank posts to senior Special Commissioners of the Delhi Police. Devesh Chandra Srivastava (IPS: 1995: UT): The Special CP (Crime), tasked with investigating the city’s most sensitive criminal cases, has been handed the additional charge of DG (Prisons). Srivastava will now oversee the administration of the Tihar, Mandoli, and Rohini jail complexes.Anil Shukla (IPS: 1996: UT): The Special CP (Special Cell), who leads the force's specialized anti-terror wing, will now also serve as the DG (Home Guards).
