New Delhi (30.04. 2025): Former R&AW chiefAlok Joshi will now head the seven-member National Security Advisors Board (NSAB) which was restructured in light of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
The board constitutes three retired army officers including former Western Air Commander Air Marshal P.M. Sinha, former Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General A.K. Singh, and Rear Admiral Monty Khanna. It also has two retired officers of the Indian Police Service, Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh along with retired IFS officer B Venkatesh Varma.
The previous board was constituted in 2018 headed by P.S. Raghavan, former Indian ambassador to Russia between 2014-2016. The move comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday.
