CBI: Two officers get extension, two promoted as DIG

NEW DELHI (27.05.2026): The Centre has extended tenure of one DIG rank officer, promoted two others to the rank of DIG from SP while tenure of Indian Telecom Service officer Manoranjan (ITS: 2011) has been extended for three years.

The way CBI is being roped in more and more cases, every such decision becomes crucial for governance. It is important to note that tenure of Murali Rambha (IPS: 2011: TN), who is serving in the CBI as DIG, has been extended from 08.07.2026 to 07.07.2027 by relaxing IPS Tenure Policy to give extended tenure of 8 years.

Two Indian Revenue Service officers already serving as SP in the CBI have been promoted to the rank of DIG. Amit Sanjay Kadam (IRS IT: 2011) has been promoted to the post of DIG for a tenure up to 01.05.2027 while Shubhendra Katta (IRS C&IT: 2011), has been promoted to the post of DIG for a tenure up to 27.04.2027. Manoranjan will be serving CBI as SP up to 29.04.2029.
