The long due selection of 04 Members of CBEC and retirement date of S B Singh (Member, Central Excise) coming closer (February 28) have put the CBEC under apprehensions. The strength of Central Board of Customs & Excise is 07 (01 Chairperson & 06 Members) whereas the effective strength of the Board will remain only two on February 28 with the retirement of S B Singh. In the month of May this year Ms Joy Kumari Chander (IRS C&CE:1978), Member (Personnel & Vigilance) will also be retiring in May.
