New Delhi (30.09.2023): If some well-placed sources are to be believed Nitin Gupta (IRS IT: 1986), the incumbent Chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes is all set to get extension in service for a period of six months or nine months. As the convention has been, since Sushil Chandra, the New Delhi establishment may re-employ Nitin Gupta on contract basis w.e.f. 01.10.2023. He may join the league of Sushil Chandra and Pramod Chandra Mody who had the privilege of having a lease of career on re-employment and contract basis.It may be underlined that as per schedule Gupta is retiring today.
