cabinet-clears-cadre-review-of-its-group-a As Indianmandrins had reported on October 07, 2016 (web-link below) the Union Cabinet cleared the cadre review of Indian Telecommunications Service, Group Á'. Ever since its creation in 1965, Indian Telecom Service Group 'A" has only once in 1988 gone through a cadre review and hence the latest cadre review was long overdue. It is believed that it may reduce the existing stagnation of ITS officers. The approved proposal calls for creation of one Apex level post of DG Telecom, fixes the number of Duty posts to 853, provides for a Deputation Reserve of 310 posts for deputation of ITS officers to other Departments / organizations, provides for a special diminishing reserve for posting of ITS officers in BSNL/MTNL, restricts Cadre strength to the present working strength of 1690. An official statement said the approval would help strengthen the cadre structure both at the DoT headquarters and in the field units on the basis of functional requirement. It will also meet the requirement of skilled manpower in BSNL/MTNL. (Web-link- 07 October 2016)   ITS cadre restructuring shortly; 766 new posts being created http://www.indianmandarins.com/its-cadre-restructuring-shortly-766-new-posts-being-created/
