BSNL targets net profitability, to invest Rs 6,000 crore

bsnl-targets-net-profitability-to-invest-rs-6000-crore  With the sight firmly fixed on becoming profitable by FY 19, public sector telecom operator BSNL has chalked out plans to invest Rs. 6,000 crores over the next two years to improve its network. It has already initiated the process of awarding contracts to equipment vendors that include Finnish-major Nokia and Chinese company ZTE to set up the required infrastructure. The company is expecting to be Ebidta positive (operating profit) for the third straight year in FY17. Revenue from operations is expected to see a marginal one percent (approx) jump to Rs. 28,700 crores in FY17 against Rs. 28,400 crores in FY16. After suffering losses to the tune of Rs. 691 crore in FY-14, the telco reported operating profits for FY15 and FY16 of Rs. 672 crores and 3,855 crores respectively.
