BJP fields ex-IPS Rajesh Kumar from Jagaddal constituency

Kolkata (23.03.2026): If Rajiv Kumar is with TMC, Rajesh Kumar will bat for the BJP. Two former Kolkata Police Commissioners have crossed into politics on rival sides as says after the TMC sent Rajeev Kumar to the Rajya Sabha, the BJP fielded his batchmate (1990) Rajesh Kumar from Jagaddal Assembly polls. Rajesh Kumar retired in January 2026 following his last assignment as Principal Secretary of Mass Education Extension and Library Services department.
