The Election Commission of India has appointed B Murali Kumar (ex IRSIT:1983) as Special Expenditure Observer for the forthcoming Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand. Earlier he worked in the Investigation Wing of Income Tax Department.

Murali, in consultation with the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, will be supervising and monitoring the electoral machinery and ensure effective enforcement based on intelligence inputs and complaints received through C-VIGIL, Voter Helpline 1950 against all persons/entities trying to induce voters by distributing cash, liquor & freebies etc.

Prior to this he was appointed as Special Expenditure Observer for 8-Vellore Parliamentary Constituency and recently concluded Assembly elections in Maharashtra.
