In the selection interview held yesterday (06 Feb. 2015) PESB has selected B K Mishra (GM, SECL/CIL) for the post of Director (Technical), Western Coalfields Limited. PESB has forwarded his name to the Appointment Committee of Cabinet for ratification. Currently, two important posts of Director (Tech) & Director (Fin) are running vacant. WCL got its CMD in R R Mishra on October 10 last year. Western Coalfields Limited (enjoying "Miniratna" status since March 2007) is one of the eight Subsidiary Companies of Coal India Limited which is under administrative control of Ministry of Coal (CIL). WCL contributes approx 8.5% of the national coal production. As many as 14 candidates had appeared before the selection board.
