New Delhi (19.11.2022): Arun Goel (IAS:1985:PB), former Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries who took VRS six weeks ahead of his retirement i.e. 31.12.2022, has been appointed as Election Commissioner (EC) in the Election Commission of India (ECI) ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in Gujarat. One post of EC was lying vacant for nearly six months after Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sushil Chandra had retired in May this year handing charge to Rajiv Kumar. Goel will join CEC Rajiv Kumar and EC Anup Chandra Pandey.
