Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer Sanjay Arora (IPS:1988) may be laterally appointed as IG in CRPF. Currently, he is serving the BSF and is in charge of Chhattisgarh region. Once appointed in CRPF, he will replace his batchmate D S Chauhan (IPS:1988:UP) as IG CRPF in Chhattisgarh.
It may be noted that Arora has earned a reputation in fighting left wing extremism (LWE). Recently, he successfully neutralized a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh. Arora had also played a critical role in notorious TN sandalwood smuggler Veerappan's elimination.
