Pakistan and Afghanistan are once again trying their luck at a shot of cooperation between their spy agencies. An earlier bout of cooperation last year proved a vapid failure as operatives of the two sides continued to keep each other fully and gainfully occupied with a series of violations of the accord reached between their political leadership without consensus at home.
According to a media report, Afghanistan's head of National Directorate of Security (NDS) Masud Andrabi quietly travelled to Islamabad last week and met with director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar. The rare visit is said to have been facilitated by China and the US was not announced by any side.
